Does this car have frame damage?

This car belongs to the idiotic Infinitebass who resides in the South forum. What does everyone think of the condition of the frame?

I'm not TurboJeff, but I'd say it definitely does. Door/fender gap increased, the whole front end is shifted to the right... the front frame bar is def. either caved in or most likely pulled to the right (and caved in), shifting the side frame rails to the right. That car took one hell of a beating, and at an angle too. What did he hit...a brick wall? Or did he T-bone another car at an angle? The force of that accident looks substantial...pushing the coolant filler neck, alternator, etc...everything back, and even broke the welded seams on the PFS IC piping! He alright?

You mean you don't think it'll buff right out?

Absolutely. Both rails are bent quite a bit to the right.

Fixable but expensive damage.

Jeff...question for you. For you to fix the car RIGHT...you can't just pull and straighten the frame...you gotta pull out all the parts, maybe even the engine too, to get a good look at everything, inspect all the components etc... (assuming no budget, and you want it perfect), right? Cuz I've always wondered how you can tell there isn't hidden damage, obscured from all the engine bay parts, or even damage to one of the parts themselves...?

I'm not a fan of splicing frame rails so I think the best way to fix that car is to strip the front down completely and put two new frame rails in it.

Once you've got things torn apart it is pretty easy to see bent parts.

The repair would be very similar to this one except both rails would need to be replaced.

Agreed. Depends on the shape of the rest of the car whether it's a candidate for parting or repair. Thought there does appear to be a cast aluminum part broken in that view near where the airpump would be. But the most damage appears to be infront of the suspension....which IMHO, would be a good thing.

Ouch ! I don't think this car is worth the repair cost. Better off parting out.

It is fixable, my car sustain'd similar damage and I had it repair'd. What you must find out is if the damage distored the cabin, you can check it pretty easy if it has a sunroof by opening and closing it to see if it gets hung up and closes completely.
The sunroof should close and be flush with the roof line. What I did was replace the core support (cut @ the strut mounts), I bought one off the forum for $600 and it cost me about $1600 to have it put on and verified that the car was straight. You could buy a front clip and just replace the whole thing they usually run about $1000.
