I use water-wetter in all my cars, it didn't make a noticeable drop in water temps.. but it is good piece of mind, and helps lubricate the water pump.

I use it. The added cost is small for additional protection.

My understanding is that WaterWetter doesn't contain any pump lube.

A friend of mine uses distilled water, a bottle of WaterWetter, and a bottle of water pump lube. No coolant.

Not according to the manufacturer: www.redlineoil.com.

I've used it for years and think it works well especially in hot climates like I live in (Tucson). You need to still run some anti-freeze with it (20%) since you can freeze your coolant even with 100F temps outside on the A/C condensor. Weird but true.

I don't think it lowers the temerature, more like helps control the boiling boint like evans. This is just a guess but I haven't heard any bubbling since I used Royal Purple Ice.

Some info you guys would be interested in. Ray Lochead as well as KD Rotary informed me that water wetter eats coolant seals. According to them it shortens you engine life by over half. When I heard that, I drained mine that moment!

Works very well, helps keep the temps controllable, not lower.

Question ErnieT

Did they mention anything about Royal Purple's version of Purple Ice?

I have heard this from a couple of forum members as well. Could be hear say.. but why risk it?

For the effort and expense, I would just use Evans.. just my $0.02

Hi GoRacer,
No negative issues whatsoever concerning elastomer compatibility with Purple Ice in rotary and/ or piston engines.

Thank you,

Subject: Purple Ice and rotary engine?

There is a topic on the RX-7 forum regarding Red Line's Water Wetter. I am currently using Royal Purple's Ice instead. Is there any harmful
effects to the coolant seals in a rotary engine?

GoRacer, it's been over a year since your last post on this thread. have you come across any cooling issues sicne then? I know it's kind of an amiguous question, given the fact that anything could contribute to coolant seal failure. I have been soy'ching and I'm Just curious.
