I used to get stopped alot when i first got the car.

Back then it was still in the "fast and furious" era so everyone and their mother had their car modified in some way, more retarded than most.

I have had people ask me where they could get one, how much do they normally cost, how much am i selling for even though i wasnt. I would have people take pics when im on the highway and just people breaking necks when i drive around.

I still get the neck breaking but its moreso because the car is rare. Like i said before in the past, when people realize its just a "mazda", they lose all interest. They mainly look at the car because its rare and it looks exotic. I have had to tell people its a 93 mazda and they go, "oh cool" and just turn away with little to no interest whatsoever afterwards.

Recently, i have been doing alot of cruising, mainly on the weekend and i have yet to see cars that are "modified". I am realizing how dead this modified car game thing really is becoming. Before i would see alot of "tuner" cars taking a cruise etc but now i have seen none. I saw an evo one time on the turnpike and that was like last month. And i cruise every weekend, about 150 miles total each weekend so i do some distance.

Maybe im just cruising at the wrong time or maybe its a phase thats ending for most. idk.

Yup tons of attention wherever I go. Especially after I painted my car yellow. People giving the thumbs up, wanting to talk at gas stations, taking pics of it, even filming. Some of the reactions are right down insane. As if their favorite team just won the superbowl. I'm serious people screaming "yeah!" and shaking fists in the air. Kinda silly if you ask me. But that sillyness is exactly why I believe that one day this car will be a collectible.

I had my car a couple of years prior to FnF... Dude it was pure bliss. No one knew WTF it was, no fan boys, no constant revving. Just a very exotic looking car. As far as the scene it's definately dying. I'm actually very glad as cops aren't always looking to bust modified cars. At least not as much as they used to.

I was at a gas station one day filling up the tank. The pump comes on & the next thing I hear over the intercom is, "Dude! Nice looking car!". I go in to pay the fellow behind the counter & then he wanted to come out & sit in my ride. I let him until the other employee yelled at him to come back in because they were getting swamped.

Looks from other folks on the road are normal. Happens all the time.

It's threads like this that make me quietly chuckle at people who plan on building a "sleeper FD". It's plainly obvious there is nothing "sleeper" about our cars!

I can understand if you want to go subtle...but true sleeper status is nothing any FD can achieve.

I had a gentlemen wave to me at a stop light from his AMG SL500. He asked what it was and what year it was. When I told him he was surprised and asked if I was interested in selling. I told him no and the light turned green.
