Do I need an o-ring for the front stationary gear?

I forget. I have the engine gasket kit and there's so many o-rings in it. One looks like it can go where there is a groove on the front stationary gear.

I tried putting the o-ring in there but there wasn't enough clearance to seal with the front intermediate housing so I took it off.

Is there an o-ring that goes in the front stationary gear?

Thanks!

I thought it did, but the shop manual says no.

It makes sense though, if any oil leaks, it's just going to go into the front cover.

Yep, no O-ring on the front gear - just on the rear one.

Thanks guys! I just got the engine put back together and I manually rotated it....ah the sound of compression!!!

Still got a ways to go but I'm definitely excited! Hope to get it running this weekend.
