Do I need the EGI fuse to get a spark????

Long story short, I pulled the EGI fuse because I was flooded, I then wanted to check and see if I was getting a spark. I was not able to get a spark. Is this because I pulled the EGI fuse????
Boy that will **** me off I pulled the upper intake manifold so that I could check the coils.
Please anyone with experience here, I am desperate... I want to drive my car for the first time!

You should get a spark. What you did was the proper method for starting a flooded car.

EGI should only stop the fuel pump from pumping so yes you should get a spark.

PM me if you need to know the instructions on starting a flooded engine...it's kinda long and I don't want to post it if you don't need it.

Put this in the Archive you DO need to have the EGI fuse in place to get a spark. I verified this yesterday myself.

I've been to a couple of those meetings, It's not much fun when you don't have your RX-7. Anyway I got everything running in the car then found a gas leak under the plenum... So this weekend I'm going to take that apart and find the leak and order some parts.... ALMOST THERE. Anyway I hope to have the car 100% running when you guys go to the dyno day. I will not dyno the car (I have to break the engine in). But I'll come around and show off
