Newbie Question

Just got my FD (Black/BLack) and looking to start making some upgrades.

For you mod guys, what is your favorite/best mod and why.

I guess I'm looking for a starting point...

A good starting point would be downpipe and boost gauge. If you got money to burn then go with an aluminum radiator, aluminum ast, water temp gauge, cat back. At this point you should not go too much farther without a new or upgraded ecu. So ecu, high flo cat or midpipe, intake, pulleys, port, clutch/flywheel combo, fuel pump, fmic or smic, injectors, single turbo
Just some ideas

I know that these items are not upgrades, but if you do not know when the fuel filter was changed, do it. You should change the fuel filter every 30,000 miles. Also check the brake fluid since it absorbs water. It should be changed every 2 years and check the coolant. I agree with rx7eaven on the upgrades. The boost gauge will tell you if you have any problems and the downpipe was the greatest upgrade I did. It keeps the car cooler, better gas mileage and added power.

I am getting ready for the new downpipe. I am going to have KDRotary do the work because they do great work, and I'm lazy!
Now the real question is....
What downpipe is the best one?!?!?!?

A much disputed question...hehehe
If you get it jet coated; which helps out a lot on performance, cooling, and looks; then you will not need a stainless steal one however if you do not plan on doing this then you NEED a ss or it will deteriorate over a year or 2. I went with m2's ss which is a 3" pipe and it works great!

Also it is a good idea as state above to check the fluid levels.

Have you checked the RX-7 Store? Jason, the owner, has a nice selection of boost gauges.

I had my intake and exhaust custom made. All is 3' SS even have headers dont tho the shop Fired their Pipe guy when I went to do the down pipe, so My Down Pipe is AFU instead of bending the 3' pipe so It stayed round they took the 3' and squished it into an oval so they could thread it up to meet the headers. Basically I need to upgrade my DP but the reast is all 3' straight pipe with Seabring Muffler/Tip. Tip is 5' tho little ricey but I like the look. comes out angled too not straight out, did that just to be diff.
