Do I have a miss, knock, something else?
I was driving my car around tonight and after the car was fully warmed up I wanted to do a boost run. I was in 3rd gear @ wot, and after 4000ish I hear a tick tick, tick tick, tick tick. I thought maybe I was having really bad knock so I got out of it. I did notice on my plx wideband that I was at 11.0-11.5. My boost is controlled by the PFC and is set to .65. My pfc said that my max boost was .70.
Did I have really bad knock, was it just missing, or what?
I have new NGK #9, new ngk wires, running 93 octane

1. No loss of power, at least none perceived
2. No start up issues, hor or cold
3. Compression not check but pull -19 on idle. Would like to get a compression test but have hard time paying $200 for a test when that's the price of a tester.
4. ?

Was the knock reading on the PFC a lot higher than normal? I usually keep my commander on peak hold setting so I can eyeball it at the end of a drive. Since each engine is different though you'd have to know what is normal for your car to know if its out of whack.

I posted my map + datalog a few days ago, but haven't had any comments left.

I'm happy to get more datalogs/videos to get this figured out. I'm also willing to send $ on paypal for your time. The closest reputable tuner to me is Banzai racing (10.5 hour drive).

I'm not sure how helpful these videos are (from my iphone, I can use a better camera in future), but 1st one shows that it starts/idle's no problem. At idle it pulls -498 to -501 mmHG, which is -19 in HG. Second video I am just slowly revving to 2.5K. I have bad speakers at work so I can't verify the sound, but in the car you can hear it make a "thump, thump" sound sometimes. I am wondering if this "thump, thump" turns into the "tick, tick" at higher rpm/boost ?

I tried to record with my camera to capture the sound this morning, but it decided to stop recording. I wonder if the suspension bouncing it around made it shut down? I might need to find a passenger to hold the camera next time, but it makes me nervous having to recreate the sound.
The sound seems to be coming from the driver's side of the engine.
When I did a 3rd gear pull this morning it made the sound again, around 6000 rpm.

what's your knock at idle and low load cruising? The knock values, while not the most precise, can still be usefull, deviation from the norm by 40 points or more I would consider serious knock, but that's on my car. You can go buy a cheap piston compression tester from a place like harbor freight.
something like this

I finally captured the sound on video. Hopefully someone can figure this out.
listen for the tick/tap/knock/whatever around 6000 rpm. 1st video is 2nd gear, 2nd video is 3rd gear. Maybe I never noticed before but seems to happen exactly the same time around 6000rpm.

Now this is internet diagnosis, but it sounds like a heatshield or something else metallic in the engine bay. If you really had audible knock that many times I just don't see how you wouldn't have blown your motor by now. If you're really concerned about knock, go into the diagnostic screen of the commander to retard the leading and trailing (you don't have trailing right?) by 5 degrees. This is just a test, as it will go away once you turn off the car.
In this image I highlighted the INJ correction but you want the ones for ignition timing. From my personal experience, audible knock on a rotary sounds like a tink or a thunk or the old marbles-in-a-can sound

I tried this evening to change it by -5*, but I couldn't not get my screen down to the * settings. It would only stay on the top row. I could not adjust the top row to get it to retard (-) 5*? What am I doing wrong?
