Dinosaur under my hood!!!!!!!

I was wondering if anyone else has ever had the same problem I am having.

When I am acelerating slowly and my FD boosts to about 1-2 1/2 pounds I can here this sound coming from the engine bay that sounds like, well like a little dinosaur under the hood! It goes away if I let of the gas or get on it, but I was just wondering what the hell it is. It's like a grrrruuuaahhh sound! hahahahaaa

anywho, wondering if anyone can help.

thanks
josh

I believe that is either a boost leak which could be characterized as a "whoosh" sound. Check the large rubber couplers coming from the y pipe and on the intercooler.

Otherwise - it might be the old "mooooo" sound that comes from a disconnected or mis-connected air pump hose (1'' rubber hose from the top). You'll have to specify what kind of intake you have to identify that one...

It might be your intake. My aftermarket intake was loud like that when I barley accelerated.

I have a blitz intake, but its not that because it did this before the intake was on. It sounds more like a mmmggooooooo, not a wooosh

Let me guess, you have the airpump on there still?

The stock air box has a muffler in it that muffles all that sound out from the air pump. Once you put a aftermarket intake on the car and keep the air pump, your going to hear that moo sound. It only happens while the airpump is engaged though ~till about 2500 RPM.

The stock lower intake hose for the forward turbo tends to get hot and collapse and make a really strange sound. I would check it out. Does this problem always happen or is it for extended driving periods. A little more info may be helpful.

I have hard pipes on the intake so I doubt it is a colapsing hose. It only happens when the bosst sits at 1-3 lbs for a few seconds.

Yes it does sound like a cow dying hahahahaa good way to put it!

I honestly don't think its PSI dependent. I think thats all the amount of boost you can build at the 2500 rpm level. 100% sure its the air pump making the mooing sound. Thats all it comes down to.

Its not a problem as long as *all* the hoses are hooked up to the intake. This includes the CRV, BOV, 2 airpump hoses. The sound is always there, just with the stock airbox you can't hear it.

Hey guys, I have the apexi intakes and decided to vent the stocker to the atmosphere. My car has been said to "queef" right sorta right before the bov seals up when boosting. Is that normal?

But i could here it even when I had the stock air box on. Yes, all the air hoses are connected to the Blitz intake system.

I have heard that sound numerous times also, "moooo" and quick look around to see if a cow is loose running around downtown! I was always under the impression that is was due to my crv being vented to the atmosphere as I dont have a air-pump.

i have the exact same situation and it started right after i put on my aftermarket intake (Apex'i). never caused any problems, didn't wanna ask 'cause i could't describe it but yes, it does sound like a compbination T-Rex/Cow... maybe it could be described as a T-Rex eating a cow? hmm... i just laugh and try to avoid that throttle position and rpm as much as possible.
