Differential Carrier Bearings

Does anybody know what the inner and outer bearing race part numbers are on the differential carrier bearings (or diff output bearings you might call them). Can't get Mazda ones at the moment over here!

If you mean the bearings that support the Torsen itself inside the diff case then they are:

0118-27-350A

The seals for these bearings are:

P043-27-238

You might consider finding a transmission/drivetrain shop and find out who their bearing supplier is. These suppliers often have bearings from the same brands Mazda uses for much less.

Damon,
It is the bearings that the driveshafts go through. Normally bearings have numbers on the outer race and the inner race, which will tell the bearing supplier the size you need. Do you have these numbers?
Thanks for your help,
Peter

You mean the axles? I know we don't use the same words as you Englishmen The only bearings the axles themselves go through are the wheel bearings. The inners of the axles snap into the diff which is supported by two bearings which are the parts I listed above. These bearings are inside the diff case underneath bearing caps. You have to remove the diff from the case to replace them. Be certain not to mix up the shims.

The bearings and their seals are circles in red. They mount inside the case under the bearing caps circled in green.

Damon, the ones you circled in red are the Diff Carrier bearings.

I think his question is not for the Mazda PN, but the industry std. part number printed on the bearing races. IME, you need to have one of these bearings in hand in order to read the labels and get a suitable replacement.

Damon,
Divided by a common language! Dave is correct, it's the one circled in red that I need the numbers for. Dave is right again when he says its the industry standard numbers written on the bearings that I need, not the Mazda part number.
