A different seatbelt question...

Both of my seatbelts in my '93 have exposed that little sticker that says essentially "Time to replace the seatbelt!". This (i guess) has happened gradually over the past 2 years.
A) Anybody else seen this?
B) Why?
C) How to replace? and where to buy?

Hmm, that's weird.

Where is the sticker?

Tom,

Look a little closer at the seatbelt. The cloth "sticker" your referring to should only come out when the seatbelt has been used during an accident.

The seatbelt has a section that is folded over on itself and sewn together. When you get into an accident the stitches should rip out giving the user a little more cushion during the accident. What happens on many FDs is that the cloth "sticker" comes undone and falls out of a little cover that hides the extra material on the seatbelt.

Inspect the seatbelt (near door opening) and see if there is a fuzzy little cover over the seatbelt material that is folded up and sewn together. The tag might be hanging out of the fuzzy cover.

My tag hangs out sometimes but the seatbelt is fine.

Yeah, that's what I thought it was. The fuzzy cloth is no longer covering any part of the sticker....and I guarentee it has not been in an accident. Weird. Well, I guess it's time for new seatbelts.

My point is you don't need new seatbelts, the tag is supposed to be exposed when the seatbelt is "expanded" in that area.

Hahah O man that's funny. The seatbelts are trying to reach you on a more emotional level.

Right, so now I don't have that extra death-cushion....which I want, right? Right. and for that I'd need new belts....right?
