How I spent my weekend...Polishing

Since TwinTurboTeddy isn't doing another GB for polishing(I bet it was a huge pain in the *** for him...but I'm not sure), I decided to try and polish my spare UIM & TB set-up. It wasn't that bad. It was actually pretty fun to use my Dremel to do most of the "heavy-lifting". FYI, If you don't have a Dremel, GET ONE!

I can't wait to swap out my ugly unpolished UIM & TB for the newly polished set... I hope it isn't too hard to swap 'em.

Here's a pic of my handy-work. BTW, I am now on a mission to polish as much of my engien as posible...I'm hooked!

I got my dremel from Home Depot, and the actual brand is Dremel might I add. They have different kits that come with or without a snake attachment so that you can get to those hard to reacdh places. I go tthe basic kit and it costs I think $60 it was. (Yoda moment)

I got a Dremel at Target for 69.00 with a bunch of bits. You can actually get a good deal for a Dremal on EBAY. Also, ebay has the cheapest prices for replacement bits, too.

Looks really good. I hate to polish so I am not even going to try and start although my UIM is already off. Call me lazy

what was the last grit you used to do the wet sanding with, my UIM after i polished still didnt look very shiny it kinda looked white.

I used 400 grit for wet sanding. But to tell you the truth, I didn't really do that much hand sanding. The thing that got mine super shinny was the 4" polishing wheel on my drill and "White Rouge" compound.

I may got back and re-sand some of the imperfections away using my dremel, when I get some more sanding discs, and then re-polish the UIM. Polishing is really easy. It's the damn sanding that sucks.
