How I spent my weekend...Polishing

Since TwinTurboTeddy isn't doing another GB for polishing(I bet it was a huge pain in the *** for him...but I'm not sure), I decided to try and polish my spare UIM & TB set-up. It wasn't that bad. It was actually pretty fun to use my Dremel to do most of the "heavy-lifting". FYI, If you don't have a Dremel, GET ONE!

I can't wait to swap out my ugly unpolished UIM & TB for the newly polished set... I hope it isn't too hard to swap 'em.

Here's a pic of my handy-work. BTW, I am now on a mission to polish as much of my engien as posible...I'm hooked!

I got my dremel from Home Depot, and the actual brand is Dremel might I add. They have different kits that come with or without a snake attachment so that you can get to those hard to reacdh places. I go tthe basic kit and it costs I think $60 it was. (Yoda moment)

I got a Dremel at Target for 69.00 with a bunch of bits. You can actually get a good deal for a Dremal on EBAY. Also, ebay has the cheapest prices for replacement bits, too.

I used 400 grit for wet sanding. But to tell you the truth, I didn't really do that much hand sanding. The thing that got mine super shinny was the 4" polishing wheel on my drill and "White Rouge" compound.

I may got back and re-sand some of the imperfections away using my dremel, when I get some more sanding discs, and then re-polish the UIM. Polishing is really easy. It's the damn sanding that sucks.
