Diff mount or just the bushings?

when i press the gas pedal i hear a clunk in the rear end, and then when i let off the gas the same clunk again. now i know its something to do with my diff mount. but can you tell if its the mount itself or if its the bushings without taking it apart?

The diff. mount itself is a solid unit (all metal). The bushings themselves in stock form are fluid filled rubber. It's more likely that the bushings themselves will go out before something like a diff. mount fails.

In fact, in all of my years on this forum, I have yet to hear of a diff. mount failing. It's more likely that the PPF, Diff. Housing, or bushings will fail before something like a mount would fail.

now its obviously not my diff housing, becuase i would have a puddle under my car, so if my power plant frame was busted would it be making that noise?

is it right to assume that the bushings on the diff mount are bad?

I'm going through exact same problem. After being to 3 different rotary shops I can conclude that its my diff bushings. You can simply jack the car up from the rear slide under there and look up at where the diff starts and see it for yourself.

One of mine is leaking whilst the other is split allowing it to move around abit.

dont even need to jack the car up.. you can fit easily if you have the stock suspension
