Did my fuel filter for the first time...
Yeah, I was expecting hell and gasoline spraying all over my face, but it wasn't that bad. I guess the trick is to spend plenty of time making sure you have the right wrench and best access to the spot.

The only problem I had that made it a bitch was that one of the lines would not come off. I am not a fan of using WD40 to get lines to come off but that is what it took. Other than that it was just akward placement of the filter.

Wow, I just did mine today too. It is really easy, only took me 10 minutes....because I have my differential out!
Otherwise it isn't too bad, but it is alot harder than it should be. I have changed it twice before with the diff in.
I try to change mine every 15-20k miles

I just followed the write up on rob robinette's site.
Those 45 degree pliers sound good. I used small needle nose vise grip pliers for the clamps though. It was sorta hard to get the pliers on the drivers side clamp but once it was on I was set since they lock.
I definitely feel a lot closer to my car now after hugging the differential for 30 minutes and having it poor fuel on me
