device on the UIM w/ white plug...what is it??
Hi all I took apart my car to fix a 0-0-11 problem that I was having and found that one of the two wires of the white plug connected to a device (BACV?) on the UIM was disconnected, does anyone know what that device is for and what are the symtoms if it is disconnected? Would that have caused my boost problem? thanks.

i think that the white one hooks up to the double throttle area. if you are on the pass. side looking at the harness lead, i think that i remember the white one being the 3rd one in the line. if so, it is the one that hooks up closer to the throttle body. i know that one black one goes to the aws solenoid, and the other 2 prong one goes to the intake air thermosensor.......the 4 prong connector goes to the throttle sensor.....

no, i do not think that this would cause your beest problem....sorry, i forgot to post that.....is your TCA functional, and did you recently do a hose job?
the acv is located right under the downward runners on the uim, and is connected to the primary port runners that connect to the uim itself.....i do not think that that would be a problem, simply an ecu error code....

yes i just finished doing the hose job and all of a sudden i get this weird 0-0-11 boost pattern. I don't know how to check wether my TCA is funtional, all i know is that the rod is still connected. But why would this happen right after the hose job???

IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY!
There should be three two-pronged connectors that attach to the bottom of the UIM. Their colors are, in no specific order, two black, and one white. They go to one of these: air temp sensor, accelerated warm-up system, and idle speed controller. The connectors should have little notches on them and they won't interchange between the components.

there is no way to mix them up....
the TCS is under the car next to the turbos. take it off, and check the manual for resistance tolerances and what not.....there is really no way to check it if it is still on the car....

the white plug is for ISC. Idle Speed Control.
This solenoid is duty cycled controlled by the ECU, to control how much air is bleed pass the TB.
Thus the ECU controls the idle.
When this is disconnected, it will just shut itself. No air pass the ISC. Thus your idle maybe lower than normal.
Plug it in. Let your ECU controls your idle.
