Denatured Alcohol

What's the best source for denatured alcohol? I need to drop my HC's for smog just a bit on idle and have heard a mix of denatured alcohol iin the gas is the simplest way fo doing this.
So I am asking whats the right mix to use and what brand or type of denatured alcohol?
Thanks, Peter.

The brand doesn't matter, it is the same percentage/concentration whatever you want to call it.
Home Depot or Lowe's has it in quarts and gallons, in the paint department.

I passed last Fri with changing the pfc program , retarted timing, the main cat in place , opened the secondary throttle plates alittle ,and one gal of alky to about five gal of gas .The car has 850cc pri injectors 400 plus horse power . Opening the secondary throttle plates will work for most lightly modded cars .When I was setting it up a my friends shop with his sniffer The readings were 00-0 .The test for the state read .44-0. If I pulled more timing out it would have been close to .00 But I did not to show off .

Any ill effects on the engine? I'm collecting ideas for when I need to pass emissions again in a couple of years. I failed the idle really bad, and barely passed the 25mph test.

Do not let the motor boost at all, refill tank on the way home and do not boost untill that tank is run out .After the test pull to park some place and readjust the sec plates and put the regular program back in .I have had to do this for several years and I have done several of my customers cars to a lesser extent . They wrer not as highly modded . No problems after .

The only mods to my 7 are intake and hi-flow cat. So no ability to program ECU.

Hey guys I need help on this. I need to pass e-test since i have failed previously. My mods are: hks downpipe, stock cat hooked up to the airpump and blitz cat back. I was thinking of running denatured alcohol and not sure how much to put and have heard it's harmful to the engine. Can someone please walk me through this?

As has been pointed out many times, with a stock cat and air pump there is no reason the fail the emissions test with a properly running FD.

And modern gasoline already had a shitload of ethanol.

Get your injectors cleaned, get new plugs, and an oil change - and, assuming the car is well warmed up, you should pass.

Yes, but many factors makes me unsure for example:

1. don't know how good condition is my cat,

2. my car was tunned in japan back in 1998

3. I got a new O2 sensor from rx7.com and not sure if it will afect emmision due to the difference from the stock one

4. I failed with a stock cat and a more restrictive cat back last year failing only with the CO% at Idle but more than doubling it

5. My car is running rich with a strong smell of gasoline

That is why I was thinking of using some denature alcohol to help me pass
