Defi Link Control Unit II on FD?

Ok, I'm interested in purchasing the Defi Link Control Unit II and was wondering if anybody knew about the differential pressure feature built into it where it says "the differential pressure between fuel pressure and turbo can be shown if both of fuel pressure meter and turbo meter are installed"?

And, on another website I found the quote of the CU II differential pressure feature to describe it as:
"displays fuel pressure relative to manifold pressure (for 1-1 rate fuel pressure regulators"

Would this work with the FD and if not, why not?

Sorry, I don't know enough about the fuel system or the CU II to answer this myself....-Joe

Well, the stock fuel system is a 1:1 so there really wouldn't be anything to see. If you were highly modified and running a Rising Rate FPR, I can see that being pretty handy.

Yes it will work if you have the Boost and Fuel Pressure gauges, and the Control Unit II. It's useful for many things including telling you that your fuel pressure regulator is working properly.

As a side note. When I called DEFI to order my set they told me they still had a couple of the 1st Control Units in and the only difference was that I couldn't run the BF series gauges. So I bought the Control Unit 1. I just found out recently that instead of 3min of memory I have 40 seconds, no alarm beep, non-lighted buttons, and no FP diff feature. I could of paid 20 bucks more for the II but I didn't because they mislead me. *************. I do love the gauges though.

Kaotic Dan, that sucks man. I noticed that about the CU II as well. Those are some important features. You could probably sell your's and buy a new one for a $30 difference. People are still buying the old ones.

Mahjik - thanks for the information. It's good to know that we have a 1:1 ratio...I'm just not sure why it would be such an important feature. I mean obviously you want to know that the fuel pressure is working so your engine doesn't blow, but if you have a gauge or even if your car is still running...lol...I don't see the need for a light that tells you you're running a 1:1 ratio.

The boost-fuel differential "feature" seems like the marketing department was left to run amok.

I would like the lighted buttons and 3-minute record feature though.....

I would like to record for 3 minutes too...I have the regular defi link series...Sometimes I wish I could record for longer...However, I don't want it for 3 minutes unless you can fast forward and rewind...It's already a pain to wait 10 seconds or so till you start to see the actual boost response...However, I can see where 3 minutes would help for things like EGT and water temp...

That's a shame - the BF series are the poo. That would be incentive enough for me (if I didn't have the II already).
