debadging your fd

anyone done this?
are the badges just held on with glue so a heat gun (blow dryer) will take them right off? I don't have anything against the badges, I just like a cleaner look....

Garfinkle has no gadges or antenna ,some emblems stick on ,some have pins that fit in holes which require filling and paint work . If you pull the rear inside panels you may see the pins .emblems that stick on may come off with a carefull , slow pull. A heat gun is better .

both front and back mazda emblems (alien head) are held on by pins. just take a piece of dental floss and run it down behind them and pull em off...my FD has no badges because i didnt want to drill holes in my c-west bumper for them.

I believe the RX-7 badge is held on only by glue. My "X" is starting to come off on me, and it seems like it is just glue.

I plan on going badgless when I paint as I think the car will get a better response.

I say that because I live in an area very frequented by Porsche, Viper, and Ferraris. Heck, the Lambo/Ferrari/Panoz dealers are all within 5 minutes of my house.

I think it would impact people more if they didn't know what it was. As it is, they think "It's just a Mazda?" from behind the wheel of their Turbo 911s...

good luck cleaning those marks left by the emblems if you're not repainting your bumper

actually I completely cleaned all of the "goop" left on my bumper by the emblems off. Just grab a rag and some goo gone. I used my fingernail for most of it, then just wiped the rest off...
