custom drivedrain????
let me tell all of you about my car. i blew 2 differentials within the last 3 months and car is driving like sh*t and it is making weird vibrating noises. so i was sick of not being able to figure it out and i finaly broke and took it to a mechanic. the guy that i brought it to is the man i wouldent have anything less. it turns out that my tranie was loose!!! the bolts holding the tranie to the engine were loose and making my entire drivetrain twist. the mechanic is very good with race cars. he used to be in a pit crew and he also has built many 10 second cars too he sudgested taking out the power plant frame, customing in a chevy tranie mount and a mount for the differential. he also wants to make aluminum drfferential bushings. i want to know if anyone has ever had any problems like this and if you think this will work. i have seen the mans welding and machining skills and the are very good, so i know he can do this i was just wondering if you think it will work. i also got a kaaz differential too.

i already bought a differential brace from him and it really didnt help much. plus if i re tightern the bolts it will happen again. it wasnt because of bad mechanics it was because of a problem that needs to be corrected. and i lose weight too.

Heck, when I did my clutch job I found that my top bolt on the bell housing wasn't torqued at all.
If the bolts are torqued properly, it shouldn't be a problem. If the bolts won't stay torqued, you need to fix that problem, not work around it.
However, it's your money to waste.

it isnt the bolts, my entire drive train is twisting when you apply any torque. this is causing the tranie bolts to loosen. i understand what you are saying and im going to think it over before i have him do anything. i have no idea why he wants to custom maybe i will get a new power plant frame b4 he does it. im just want it fixed you know.

I honestly don't see a need for all that stuff your mechanic is recommending. Of course he's going to recommend that stuff as he makes more money by doing extra work. IMO, I would be looking for a different mechanic. With only an intake and exhaust, if he can't get the car running without problems he needs to stop working on FD's.
Good luck.

Yeah Eric, and I bet your tranny bolts stay in..
The transmission bolts just aren't going to 'come out' with that type of twisting force. Unless they were put in and not tourqued down.
