Tell that to Porsche. Their 911's have two cup holders that slide out of the dash.
Unless of course,......you don't consider the 911 a sports car.

But on that point, while 1st and 2nd gens are def. sports cars, you gotta admit, only the 3rd gen is a real hardcore very high performance sports car...

They're temperature-regulated. It just so happens that the ideal temp is slightly below core body temp. But too cold or too hot is bad...just so you know.

BUT,....if your daily driving habits and skills are such that you're automatically going to spill your drink everytime you go out for a cruise, .....then you're right,....a cup holder is something your FD shouldn't have.
BTW,....I've never been involved in a chase like the one in BB2. At that juncture, I'd be more concerned of spilling out my urine in the car, than my refreshment.

cup holder looks great.... if someone wanted to hack into the dash they might could make the little pop-out ones.... that would be really nice b/c you could make them deeper and they would hide away when you didnt need them.....

Quick example...when you enter a pool, why do you get that chill/funky feeling? Because the water is colder than your body, so your Cremaster muscles immediately contract to raise the ******* closer to your body, to warm your testes.
So you see, it's a dynamic and constant system, not just "your ***** need to hang away from your body." Not only is that inaccurate, but it's also misinformation.

I think you missed my point. Contrary to popular belief, they don't just "sit there" away from your body. Your scotum has very temperature sensitive sensors, and in response to temperature fluctuations, *both increased and decreased temps,* it alters the tonicity of the Cremaster muscles. Thus, increased temps cause the Cremaster muscles to relax, so the ******* sits farther away from the body, and decreased temps cause the Cremaster muscles to contract, bringing the ******* closer to the body.

I really like the design and final pics, but I'm primarily a coffee drinker, with 1 mug that I use religiously, and I don't think that holder would be deep enough for my particular mug. I think it would work great for what you've designed it for though.
I'll have to get one of the clip on holders though, as I've been making a few long trips (2+ hours) in my FD since I got it and holding a travel mug between my legs gets old after the first 30 minutes!

you can always place a starbucks coffee cups on the passangers side, between the seat belt buckle and the seat. It fits perfectly and it does not slip off...only problem would be it can only hold tall, and grande size of cups....and none of that big gulp cup size

I often keep some quick spray cleaner and a few detailing cloths in the passenger side bin. I found that by stuffing the cloths just right, I could form-fit them around a large drink (insulated "big gulp" style). They kept enough spring pressure to keep it steady, but kept their shape when I remove the drink to take a sip.

), and I can't operate the car if it's too far back, so being short does have to do with where I sit. You could probably operate the car at the seats furthest back point, and at points forward. I, however, couldn't.Anyway, I think the cupholder looks great. Appears very "stock looking". Shipping that console though would probably be almost as much (one way) as you are asking to do the work (unless you have an idea of a shipping cost?).

Not to get TOO far off topic.. But if you put 2 large cardboard tubes in the rear bin, you can spray expanding foam around them and voila! Might not look too pretty, but hell it works. LOL
