Cruise Control?

I was driving today and had cruise on. Well going up a hill my clutch started to slip and it started revvin up to redline....i quickly threw it outta gear into neutral and it wrapped to like 8500 and held there. i quickly hit the Off button...but is it suppose to do that? could my slipping clutch have caused it to think it was still in gear??

whatever happened...scared the crap outta me

Pulling it out of gear won't shut the cruise off. You've go to use the clutch to pull it out of gear, that will shut off the cruise.

hitting the clutch or brake pedal is what turns the cruise off.

Yes you can. The wiring is built-in, you just need the steering wheel backer plate and buttons, console switch, throttle actuator, and I think also an electrical control box.

I'm in the middle of this process with my R2, but it doesn't work yet because I think we forgot the control box. Aside from the fact you need to pull the dash and steering wheel, it's easy.

HHmm that's weird, one of the very first times I used cruise control on my FD and towards the exit I forgot I was on cruise so I hit the clutch and put it in neutral, that immediately made the car rev up and I then realized to hit the CC off button........ I know hitting the brakes will shut it off, but didn't know that pressing the clutch in will also do the same thing? Or did I do something wrong?

Yes the clutch switch is tied into the cruise control system. If the clutch does not disable the system, then something is likely wrong. The clutch switch is known to go out.
