Creep with Hiflow cat?

SOMETIMES, when im at WOT, my car gets creep. Boost flunctuates, but i have a high flow cat. This happened after my tune and usually happens when im in lets say 4th gear at WOT at 60mph when their is a lot of load. IM boosting approx .82 on the PFC.

Why is this happening? Ill try to attach a video also of my boost gague.

Why do you think it's happening ? A high flow cat increases flow over the stockone, much like adding a midpipe. Most everyone on here has read at one time or another that a mid pipe with a down pipe and cat back will cause you to have boost creep......dose the word cat confuse you into believing it flows the same as a stock one?

I'm not sure what might be causing it other than overwhelming the WG. But I don't think getting CREEP with a hi-flow cat and those mods is common. Maybe the WG isn't operating properly What kind/brand is your HF cat?

rx7store. Creep only comes under heavy load. My freinds FD is pushing more boost with a highflow and it dosent creep at all.

Almost by definition, no? Suppose your car creeps from 12 to 14psi. Now you retune the boost controller and PFC for to run 14psi all the time. Would you still have creep?

PFC uses stock boost solenoids...... and he doesnt have a aftermarket boostcontroller.

boost dropped after my tune because of my PFS intercooler. I thought its supposed to go up but it went down a little. Could a tune problem cause creep?

It's not creep, it's just inadequate boost control IMO. Get a better boost controller.

/\ Agree with rynberg. Get a boost controller. I just got my profec-b spec 2 in and am doing some fine tuning now and it seems to be pretty well controlled. Currently my peak hold is 13.2psi but while I was tuning it I had settings that were making me hit 14.6psi. I'm trying to get around the 14.5psi mark and the boost controller is holding those values pretty well as I set them without any creeping. Of course I haven't ran into a real cool night yet so we'll have to see if it creeps any then.

Stock solenoids are old... 14 years old...... time for a new aftermark controller.

I suggest the Blitz SBC I-D III... great controller, relieable, easy to use, uses dual solenoids for sequential control, and works with internal and extrernal wastegates.

If you dont want to spend the $500+, manual boost controllers work great too.... Turbosmart has some great products.
