Cracking the reinforced wheels?

I was cleaning up a pair of wheels last night that my ET streets are mounted on because i was planning on heading to the track tonight with them, but i noticed a hair line crack going through one of the spokes and then i looked at a couple other spokes and noticed some more cracks, probably 1/2 inch long. This seems strange since these are the reinforced wheels. Has anyone else had these crack on them?

i have had 2 reinforced wheels crack, and 0 non-reinforced break if i remember correctly. the "reinforced" look stronger but i have not seen proof that one is stronger than the other.

If you are seeing cracking then they are not as strong. AND they are definately not as strong with the cracks in them. Cracks will lead to more cracking.. so keep an eye on them.

I'm definitely not running that wheel anymore, i'll have my tire unmounted and put on another rim.

If you really want to be a saint destroy the wheel to be certain nobody ever ends up trying to use a cracked one. A sledge hammer or a sawzall will be fine You can still sell the aluminum chunks to the scrap yard

I'm sure the reinforced wheels are stronger than the previous version but that doesn't mean the wheel can't still be harmed.
