Just got this from Ramy, along with that sweet mazdaspeed shift ****. I'd swear they're both brand new! I cant come up with an aesthetically pleasing way to remount my cruise control buttons though. Anyone have a good or original idea?

I wouldn't call this original, but I mounted mine in the stock location.

Thats what I would like to do, but there's no room inside the wheel to mount the metal bracket that the button housing mounts to. I guess you cut a new slot in the plastic part of the wheel to slide the buttons in, but how did you mount the button housing? I also noticed that the back of the button housing steps out about half an inch. It didn't seem that there was enough room on the inside of the wheel for the button housing to mount flush, even though yours does.

Lol, "new parts shall gather no dust". Actually Ive got a new engine, fuel system, poly mounts and a flywheel gathering dust, but that wheel was way too nice to leave laying around.

I love that. Unfortunately, for me it's more like "All parts shall gather dust..."

LOL! Heck no! That's an ORIGINAL OEM Nardi "Flying M" Torino steering wheel off a 2000+ FD3S, as evidenced by the fact that he didn't have to do any drilling to get the turn signal level to fit.

With me, it's original or bust

I just unscrewed the wire with plug from my old wheel, then screwed back to the new one.

Yea, these are nice wheels. Lighter too. :-) Anyway I mounted my cruise control in the same location but didn't want to cut in to the wheel. It sticks out a bit but its fine. Here is a direct link to the page on my site about it:

I found you're post while doing a search and read thru it, but couldnt really get a good fix on what you did to mount the button housing. Maybe you could walk me thru what you did ?

OK, heres my take on what you may have done. You made a block, or spacer to make the side of the button housing flat, since it steps out in the rear. then you attached ( but how) the housing to the side of the wheel ( plastic part). Let me know if I'm heading in the right direction.

I noticed Ramy refered to you as Riz. Did you change your user name, or are there two Riz's in Chicago. The Riz that I've meet goes by Farhan on the forum.

Same one. Riz used to use "Farhan," but finally stopped using that (it wasn't his username lol) and started his own (str8ryd).

Oh and Dean, I forgot to tell you, the shift **** doesn't just look new; it IS new
