Cracked UIM

While installing block off plates I noticed this. Never ending things that pile up while trying to build a seven.

Am I screwed?

That happens when you go to tighten it down and the reinforcement post above the coils is misaligned. You could have it tig welded but it may be easier and more cost effective to find a good used uim. Because it is cast aluminum, the corner will eventually break off from being cracked like that.

Looks like someone tightened the bolts down too tight.

$325 for the Pettit Ported UIM if you send him your old one. As yours is probably no good for them it will probably be $425.

shitty thing is I just installed block off plates last week. when you take them off (siliconed on) they bend. (cheap *** ebay ones to boot and will probably break) so this just set me way back... dammit. might as well get one of those ground zero LIMs while I'm at it.

I've used the ebay plates in the past... definitely cheap. Just spend the extra money and go with a name brand set. They are usually twice or three times as thick and definitely wont flex after being tightened down
