Crack in the plastic behind the shifter?

MY friend has a black 93 base model stock he just bought it like a month ago ,the car has a crack on the center console between the seats ,behind the shifter , kinda were your elbow sits , anyone have a fix for this or does he have to find a new piece?

well either buy another piece or try to fix with some fiberglass and some "plastic" filler. It's a lot less of a headache if you just replace it. I had a friend that the same thing happen and he took it to a good stereo place and they fix it with fiberglass.

Depends on the crack if it cracked the platic only then you can apoxy it, if the vinyl cracked also (as mine did) then you may want to find a new one cause the vinyl is hard to repair.

ALSO once you fix it or if you get a new/used one, support that area! On the underneath of the tunnel cover you will see a couple of tubular braces that give it suport. I broke these off my old one and apoxyed them onto the new one. I put them up close to the front of the cover where you mainly rest your elbow. Now with these there the cover has the support to hold your elbows weight.

damn that sucks....
id say replace it, look for someone parting their car
getting a fresh new one is alwys better off with one thats been fixed and could get cracked again

i brought my rx7 with that piece broken too.... and just recently i realized that the replacement i brought is a different shade and different texture -_-;. Mine is a 93 rx7 and the one i brought was off a 94 so if u do buy a replacement aim for a 93

My plastic is broken there as well , but its under everything... Im thinking of just glueing it back together?
