Could the cat be bad?

Title sounds kinda funny once I think of it. I had the cat off to check if it may be clogged (glowing turbo and downpipe, sluggish acceleration, little boost) it looked perfect, the mesh was in great shape, didn't see anything that would indicate a clogged cat. So to the question...could the cat still be clogged and the honeycomb mesh still look in good shape?

If you can see through the cat's mesh, it isn't clogged. Have you verified your ignition timing?

Nope haven't done that...it's on the growing laundry list with this car.

could be a bit of unburn fuel going into the cat and combusting, had that on a 2001 GTP at my school, (College) one or more slark plugs were nto firing so all that unburn fuel went into cat and burned then made the whole exhaust red hot, just idling it in from outside, less then 2 min total trip. and just freaking glowing red.

I had exactly the same problem with my TII...I had the wrong ECU and it was fouling my plugs out...Try puting in new plugs and see if that fixes the problem!

Got new plugs in there, new ignition amp. Pulled the plugs to see if amp is firing leading coil...they were dry. Man this car is driving me crazy.
