The Coolant you're running

What brand coolant are you running and what temps are you seeing? Has one parts store brand been proven to be any better than another? What mix is it at and did you add water wetter or purple ice to the mix?

If you need additives to keep it cool, you need a bigger or more efficient radiator, or more airflow thru it

Can't remember the brand exactly, but it's a premixed coolant (ie: you don't add it to water, you just fill up with the stuff outta the bottle)

Car is stock with DP and the worst Ive seen is 210F in heavy traffic with A/C on. Usually run 195-200F in summer weather.

I run regular green stuff (Autozone? Advanced Auto?). I had redline water wetter in last time, but it didn't change my peak or regular temps in fairly easy street driving. The highest I see is 210F, and when the fans kick on it drops to 180. I run 50/50 with distilled water.

I run 50-50 water and Mercedes coolant. This Saab article and opinions of other intelligent people convinced me that there may be somethign to it. Mercedes has been building aluminum block engines forever and they just may know something about what coolant to use with them. I have had no need for additives.

My radiator (koyo) is ducted well and when the car is at cruise I see temps around 87c. With the AC on this morning I was a steady 85c degrees all the way to work (about an hour's drive of 35-50 MPH light to light driving.)
