coolant resevior problem! help!

hey u guys, i need you knowledge on this problem asap thanx! Well i noticed ive been losing coolant but its not from a cracked or popped off hose or anything like that. Ive observed it, and its from the resevior. There is a little hole right next to the where the funnel (where u add coolant to the tank) connects to the tank itself; is that hole supposed to be open to allow steam and air to pass out? or is it supposed to be plugged with something? This hole is very small (no bigger than the head of a pen 1/2 way down from the tip), but looks like the tank was built originally with it(not a error) . let me kno asap. MY fd is down until i get this problem sorted out. thnk you!

Is your coolant boiling and overflowing or is it simply dripping out?

Completely normal. There are 3 holes in the overflow tank: where the filler tube attaches, where the line to the AST attaches, and the small overflow hole.

If you are losing coolant there it simply means your overflow bottle is full. If that is a chronic condition you may have a bad cap or a hose leak preventing enough vacuum to pull coolant back out of the bottle.

Gurgling is normal. Work on purging all of the air out of the system. There are many threads on here about this.
