Summit Racing has several metal ones. However, you'll have to figure out where/how to mount it as they will not be "model specific". If you aren't into fabbing up braces and such, just get an OEM one.

Overflow tank and AST are two different things. However, if he means the AST, then yes get an aftermarket metal one. If he means overflow tank, stick with the stock one.

You may be referring to the AST (air separation tank). Our guy here is talking about the overflow tank sitting at the right hand front corner of the car... I think.

I use an MSR aluminum camping fuel bottle, 1 qt size. I just cut the ring off the cap and drilled it for some stiff polyurethane hoes that fits in as a dip tube. Make sure it goes all the way to the bottom so it can siphon the expanded coolant back in to the system after the engine cools, and use a zip tie under the cap to hold it in place. I made a bracket and attached the bracket to the bottle with a large hose clamp. Works great. I drilled a second small hole for a small stiff wire with a loop on the end so I can use the wire as a dipstick to check the level without unscrewing the top.
