coolant leak....plz read now!!!!

ok, so i just got home and turned the car off. and noticed some coolant coming out of the over flow tank. hooked up the laptop and temps were ok, so it was not over heating, is it normal for coolant to come out of the tank when you turn the car off?

supposed to go to the track tonight but dont want to chance anything

When the car cools down pop the cap and burp the system. If their is some air in there it could be working through yoru system and forced some out. Lets us know...

Check the coolant level at the filler neck. If its ok, then just watch it to see if it happens again. If it happens again, then you have a problem.

If your temps are low and your not smelling it burning from anywhere I think you would be fine. Honestly burp the system and your problem will probably go away.

Check your AST cap and make sure that its holding pressure. If its not then no matter how much coolant you top up at the filler neck it will just drain down into your overflow tank and eventually overflow.

If you see coolant dripping out of the overflow on the next few drives then expect the coolant buzzer to come on soon.

Is it just me or is anyone expecting a "I overheated my engine at the track" thread?

Glad to hear it. I'd have been scared to go out even with a dribble.
