Coolant Leak
Coolant Leak
To whom it may concern,
Friday, I was driving and hit a piece of a 1x4 in the road. The peice of board broke through my plastic brush guard and my car instantly started leaking coolant. Any ideas what could have been hit. I know the radiator is there and the lower radiator hose. I will check them out but would there be somehting else I should look for? I check the oil pan and everything else is fine. I still have oil pressure and the car starts fine.
Any help would be appreciated!!

Yes you do. A new stock radiator will cost around 360 bucks. It's better to upgrade when a part failrs. You can get a Koyo Aluminum radiator free shipping for 360 I believe at rx7trix.com. These don't have plastic anything, are bigger, and cool better on an already taxed cooling system of the FD. When mine went I didn't quite have the money for it and my friend had a new 500 mile stock rad. that he sold to me for like 80 bucks and installed himself too. =)

If you have to replace yours, you'll be better off getting an all aluminum radiator.

An upgraded radiator most of all does not have plastic end tanks that can crack under load. It's an all around better upgrade if you plan on modding the car in the future. The koyo unit is relatively cheap, and is great.

If it turns out you need a radiator I will send you my stock one for just the cost of shipping. That will give you time to shop around and decide which radiator you do want.
Send me a PM if you want it.
