Thumbs up Coolant

I have to top up my coolant every 3 weeks. Is it normal for a FD?

The story goes like this, initially, my coolant light came on, so I top it up thinking that it is just the time to top up. BUT 2 to 3 weeks later, the light came on again so I top it up again. This time, I suspected that there might be a leak. So I check the coolant level for 3 days (without driving the car) but the level remained the same. So what can possibly explain this? Help.

Pinhole leak or a bad o-ring. Have your system pressure tested.

turn your car on and look in the engine bay. sometimes you will be able to see it leaking. just like what rated r1 said... a pinhole leak will only leak under pressure.

If it is the o-rings (coolant seals) you are looking at a new engine my friend.

check/replace the pressure and non-pressure caps too. I had similar problems that ended up being from a bad non-pressure cap.
