Consequences of CRV failure?

I popped my hood to poke around for "anything out of the ordinary" and found the vacuum hose to my CRV had collapsed on itself . I replaced it, but what kind of damage could have been caused?

On another note, i'm thinkin about going non-seq over winter.

Oh oh, one other thing, I broke the nipple on the CRV (fixed with epoxy), anybody got one for sale/gift?

What would be some of the symptoms of a CRV messing up or the hose it's connected to?

If the CRV hose collapses under vacuum, the CRV might not open all the way, or at all. This could cause your secondary not to spool enough, so you might get a big dip in boost at changeover at ~4500 RPM. BUT, it could be the CRV would open before the hose would collapse, and then the hose would collapse. This would have no effect on anything.

If the CRV hose was collapsing it wouldn't cause low boost because pressure causes the CRV to close when the 2ndary turbo comes on line. The pressure would likely uncollapse the hose, no problem.

Well because the hose connected to the CRV(big one) is connected to the y pipe very loosly, just wondered if this is what's causing my boost problem. I used to have 8-5-8, now it's 7-3-7(yes both boost situations were messed up). In transition it dips way low and its like its fast on primary but secondary is slow. My IC couplers are fine and the Y-pipe coupler is fine. Thinking its the very loose hose on the CRV, even with the clamp put back on its still loose. I need a new hose, does anybody know the dimension of that hose?

Yeah a loose hose from the Y-pipe to CRV can leak boost. You might try cleaning any oil off of the big nipple too, that might help it stay tight. Might try a nice piece of silicone hose there from pegasus racing or someone like that, that hose sees some pretty high temps and really takes a beating.
