Confused: Engine hoist

Ok, I am gona pull the motor out of the car so I can get a good review of whats going on with it and clean it up really pretty.. anyways.. This engine doesnt seam to have the hoist points my other fd's had.. Im very confused..

The engine should have 2 loop brackets for lifting. If they are not there borrrow/buy a set, and bolt them on.

just get some grade 8 bolts
find some holes (the uim backside firewall, or some other spot) thats strong and rip the thing out...

i used 1 engine hook, and wrapped chain around the UIM. Came out easy

Around the UIM. Someone tried that and broke that right off. Anways, I would wrap a chain around the flat spot on the back of the oil pan. Then wrap another chain around the front flat spot on the oil pan.

use the front bracket that is on the engine designed for lifting it, and use one of the tranny bolts on the back.

the engine hoist brackets are missing, thats what im saying. The tranny bolt idea could work to an extent.

yea bolts through the chain! woo hoo gangsta! i used one of the holes where the rats nest bolts in.

You could try calling one of your FD friends to let you borrow theirs, they really don't need it unless they are taking the engine out
