Compression Reading for Dig. tester

Ok i finally got my Compression tester built and working right.

I have come to the concusion that i will need a rebuild, but it should still start.

That is where my problem lies, it will try to start with starting fuild, then if i use the fuel injection system it trys for a sec then sounds like it floods out.

Here are the numbers on the Housing, i think i am lucky and only have a cracked apex seal or corner seal, i dont think there is anything major.

In order to help, we'll need for you to get the distracting graph and notepad out of the way.

The fron rotor dosent look bad at all but you definetly have low compression on one of your faces on the rear rotor. Good luck with your rebuild.

are you using the honeywell pressure sensor?

how many samples per second?

looks like a bad sideseal and your apex seals may be o k.

Not it is a

Manufacturer. Parker
Supply voltage. 9-30V
Output 0-5V (amplified)
Pressure rating. 20 Bar (approx 290 psi)
Accurate to 0.01 bar or 0.145psi
Maximum over pressure 1.25 x rated pressure.
Linearity <+/- 0.05% over 80 deg C
Hysteresis <0.05% full scale over 80 deg C
Repeatability <0.05% full scale over 80 deg C
Stability <0.1 FS after 1M cycles.
Functional temp range -40 deg C to +125 deg C
Made from 17-4ph Stainless steel.

I was useing a 240Hz sample rate.

Yea i was thinking that something is cracked not broken

i use the Honeywell pressure sensor 4000 pc series. runs on the same current as the map sensor... 5 v. output 0-5 volts. i measure fuel and exhaust back pressure.

PN 4040pc150g4d

they are avail

0-15 psi
0-100
0-150
0-250

bought 2 for $40 on ebay a couple of years ago.

Looking at the trace from your front rotor brings a question to mind. Normally when a rotory looses a apex seal you see TWO low readings followed by one normal, so I guess you're thinking this is a side seal leaking since you have two normal and one low? Maybe you should think about trying the water treatment to see if it would free up some carbon buildup...

Also, I found that if you haven't calibrated your pressure sensor and adjusted for RPM and altitude the actual compression values might be considerable higher, or lower, than shown. On the other hand, its the pattern of pulses and the ability to compare that's most important.
