Complete cruise delete
Upon removing the dash and gaugehood i figured its a good time to do a complete clean cruise delete
So far i have changed out , cruise master on gaugecluster, cruise ctrl on steering wheels
Next i like to confirm a few things to remove
Silver box on top of cpu2 ,, driver side left foot well
Cruise actuator under hood
Thats about it right ?

Yep, that's it. You can easily sell those parts to someone wanting to add cruise.
I added cruise years back to my R2 since my knees can't take long car trips without it!

What’s apparently getting harder to find are the switch blanks...probably because they were just thrown away.
If you’re really OCD and can find a nice non-cruise steering wheel...or at least the plastic from one, you can eliminate that space left by the switch.

kensin,
The instrument cluster flex print also contains the CRUISE lamp. It could remain installed and be used as a spare bulb for one of the others. Did you change the tachometer to a face that doesn't have "CRUISE" or will you retain the original tach?

kensin,
Nice touch!
While you were in the instrument cluster, did you inspect the speedo board for any signs of leaking capacitors? I'm not trying to jinx your project. It would be a preventative measure to catch suspect caps now vice months/years later when other components may get damaged from the leaked acid. If you see any residue on the cap legs or see a cap with swelling - either the sides or on the top then that is a visual indication of a cap going bad. If you have any questions about it then take some pics and reach out to me.
