Compartment hot?

Is it just me or does the fd feel hot all the time. Inside the fd is comfy but after awhile I start burning up apparently from the heat coming off the trans. Everything is good its not the trans lacking tranny oil. And even when I turn the fans off I can still feel hot air coming out.

i know exactly how you feel

i dont think there wasnt any time, except when im just warming the car up in the wintertime where i actually felt comfortable in the FD..i mean i dont have a/c (well i do but i need to recharge it) so i dont know what its like to drive nice and cool to work not worrying about sweating cause spring, summer, fall or winter, im always hot when i drive the car..im actually looking foward to fall/winter, at least i wont be as hot as now..i sweat by damn *** off driving this thing lol

If you turn the fans off but still have that switch set to select air from outside (as opposed to recirculating in the cabin) then you will get some air coming thru while the car is moving. It may be picking up some heat on the way in, even if you don't have the temp dial set to hot.

I had to heat my old corolla in this manner, after the fans died. Made sitting at traffic lights almost unbearable in cold weather!

ok yes this is a common problem.

go to home depot. they sell this roll of heat shield. 10$ cheap brand. works great. just cover the inside area. also get the reflective tape for it. cover around the E-brake. there is going to be a large open area that is not padded. and cover over and down the sides of the tunnel.

you can buy the 100$ heat pads, but the 10$ works great. make sure there is no large gap around the shifter like from a torn boot, or maybe if u have a BandM short shift kit.

Its acomon problem if you ever get under the car pay atention where your exhoust run right where the trans is so thats is hot plus hot trans plus the motor puting out enormous amounts of heat equal to a ride in hell basicly but the fun of driving it makes you forget about the heat

Having the A/C working properly is definately a must in this car. I could not imagine driving during the summer without it. At least here in the south.

Well I am a silver touring red interior and I just feel just as badass. Its a must to drive with windows down and sunroof up. There was one time it was pouring rain outside and I was baking my *** off with everything shut. So I drove with windows down in the rain =^). Also try doin 120 with sunroof up and windows down you get this vortex feeling.
