Can I do compression check when engine is cold?
What number should i expect to see when cold?

I might be wrong but from my understanding it's not a reliable result you will be getting as the numbers will fluctuate. Anuj.

a cold compression check will tell you if the engine is blown, a warm compression check will tell you the actual compression it will be running under.
