Clutch recomendations

Any good bad or ugly clutch advice for me?

Doing 5 speed swap this week. Would like something better than stock but still daily driveable.

ACT HDSS or HDMM kit would do nicely, or an exedy 10802HD. Both good choices imho.

iv got the exedy sportstuff clutch in my FD and i really like it. (installed about 8 months ago now??) im glad i went with a full faced disc. im happy with it.

As long as it isn't a puck and it's organic, you'll be happy with nice drivability.

Act Street/Strip disc with Heavy Duty pressure plate. Slightly heavier than stock pedal feel, excellent grab and very streetable. It has been an awesome clutch supporting 400whp with no issues what so ever.

I have the act light weight flywheel, street clutch and presure plate package and love it. revs very freely, very streetable and grabs nicely.

i wonder how my ACT heavy duty pressure plate, 6 puck sprung disc, and madatrix flywheel is going to feel on the street.

yep, act street strip clutch. it's what i use in my fd and it's very streetable.

I used to have your setup thinking I needed all that power for my single turbo, your 6 puck disc is going to chatter and you'll either like it or won't. Since then I swapped out to an oem full disc and it made the car more enjoyable to drive.

I have an HDSS and Prolite flywheel I installed about 5 months ago. I love it. Slightly stiffer pedal feel but very very streetable, even with the prolite.

I have had ACT and Bully clutches. Both have been fine for the street. If you are doing a swap get a light weight flywheel while you have it apart. That is a damn good upgrade!

It chatters? I have an ACT Extreme Pressure Plate and 6 Puck sprung and ACT flywheel on my miata. It doesn't chatter, but the clutch pedal is just super stiff. Have to really try to make it smooth on take off.

Your miata and FD is a different set up, if you really want to find out, then install it and let us know.

I recommend you not change to a light fly wheel if you plan to drive this on the street and keep the A/C

You may not like it very much for the street.

That's my autox setup. It takes a little getting used to.

The most wear on it probably occurs getting the FD in an out of a trailer, and the garage.

There's a few other people that have driven my car, it usually is difficult for most of them at first, unless they've previously driven a race clutch.

That's more of a personal preference. I've had zero problems driving cars with light weight flywheels with and without A/C.

I have an ACT SS with heavy duty pressure plate with a 9lb flywheel and love it!

My car had the stock clutch and flywheel for about 85k miles. It now has an Exedy Stage 1 clutch with the (resurfaced) stock flywheel. The pedal pressure is a bit stiffer than stock, but after a few days you don't notice it. I can't speak for how much power it will hold, since my engine is mostly stock.

I recommend lightweight flywheels to every FD owner who is performance-minded. There are no real issues with driveability, and the performance gain is substantial, esp in the lower gears.

But all of this has been posted 75 million times over the years, a SEARCH next time will serve the OP well

I've got a Bonez street-comp clutch and an ACT Pro-Lite flywheel, and A/C is not challenge after a little practice. Valets will kill it on the first attempt every time, though, even if you warn them.

I say stay with sprung clutch with heavy PP for street use. I thought puck was too harsh.
Just putting an exedy twin on now, no feedback yet though.
