clutch questions

my clutch is starting to slip(85k miles) so i need a new one some time soon. i am deciding between ACT street/strip and a Stock clutch. i dont really have $$ for the ACT yet, but am afraid if i got the stock clutch it wont be able to hold the power for long. what do you guys think? how long does an ACT typically last? should i just wait a bit more and save $$ for the ACT?

my performance mods : FULL 3"exhaust, intakes, FMIC, pettit ECU, profec B running 12lbs

probably running aroud 300-320 rwhp

Don't waste your money on a Mazda clutch, just hold off for another week or two and get the ACT Street/Strip clutch. I bet if you don't get the ACT clutch you will regret wasting your money and not holding off.

WHen I got my ACT I think it was only 75$ more, so the decision is easy. the pedal efort is a littel higher, I hated it fo rthe first 10 mins, but since haven't noticed it. I love it, It works much faster for shifts and hooking up.

You might want to go ahead and save up for a lightned flywheel. It is better to install both at the same time.

clutch

Definitely do not go with the stock clutch. Like a dummy I had a stock disc installed when I had my engine transplant done. The clutch has lasted only 30 K miles and now needs to be replaced. Especially if you get an early 93 production one, the friction material was crap. There was a TSB which changed to a more durable friction material and different part number for the clutch disc in early 94 production models.

yes, i set it up. right now its set at about 12psi and the first **** on the left turned all the way to the right ( i think its sharp).

the only funny thing ive expeienced is my first turbo can only get 11lbs no matter how high i set the profec. my boost pattern is 11-9-12 ( low setting) 11-9-14(high setting)
