Clutch has no pressure suddenly

I went for a little drive today and left my car running at in a parking lot for about 15 min (had to wait for someone and didn't wanna run off the car incase the battery wouldn't start again).

I finally decide to drive and then my clutch has no pressure. I check the brake fluid and it is full so I let my car cool down a bit. 15 minutes later pressure is back and I drove home fine afterwards, does anyone know why this happen to me?

Might want to check your clutch line between the master cylinder and slave. This happened to me after I got my car washed and the guys who drove it around the back must have done something stupid or it was just its time and it cracked and lost most of its pressure. But I could still limp it home. Swapped lines and it worked perfectly.

There is nothing that is time dependent in the clutch hydraulic system. There is a master cylinder, slave cylinder and line. On the master and slave the sealing piston can wear out which can lead to no pedal pressure and the pedal staying on the floor. A fluid leak would be obvious at the brake fluid reservoir. A collapsed pressure plate or failed retaining collar would result in you towing the car home, so that is out.

Were you holding the pedal to the floor for an extended period? Then had no pedal. This would typically be a worn out slave cylinder.

I just meant it was old and over time it had cracked, leaking fluid and not holding pressure.

^ Agree,

I have the same problem, if I am in traffic I have to make sure to not keep the pedal down for too long otherwise the car will start to roll due to the clutch pressure bleeding off.

I have a new slave and master to install this winter.

That makes sense, at first there was no pressure for about 1 inch of peddle travel. I tried pumping the peddle and the more I pumped it, more of the pressure was gone until the peddle was stuck to the floor.

If the cylinder was worn out would the pressure come back after about 15 minutes? If so should I replace it because I've had the car for over 2 years and this only happened before for about 5 min and that was about a year and until now in parking lot the clutch is fine

if there are no visible leaks you can put your money on a faulty master.

There are cheap rebuild kits for both the master and slave, buy them both and a SS clutch line. It does not matter that it has only happened once before, your car is warning you to take care of the problem.
