Close call...could have led to engine failure

Glad I did my vacuum hose job when I did it or I would be neededing a new engine soon...It is a reman engine with 18k on it....I found one of the OM lines broken...It was just pouring oil over the engine...got rid of them and now am running premix--I trust this more!

Did you happen to notice any oil dripping on the rotor housings?

I did know that I had an oil leak...It leaks from the oil pan...But I did notice that I was getting oil coming down from the top of the engine...It boggled me---duh it was the OM line .

That is why things like OMP lines and injectors should be replaced when doing a rebuild....

Hopefully you caught it before it did too much damage..

I feel pretty confident in the oil metering system on my car -- but I replaced the OMP 2-1/2 years ago and my new rebuild has new lines, injectors, and oil pump.

Good luck!

I probably would have put in new lines if I found out earlier and had more time...I didn't want remove more stuff...I ran premix in my TII and don't mind taking the time to add it to gas...

Get the stainless braided lines from Gotham Racing. I think they are about 100 bucks, good insurance and they look really nice.

I may do this when I have to get back under the manifold...For now school is starting so it will be put off until I have time again...Premix should hold me off until I decide on whether to run the OMP or just keep Premixing!

Good catch although I really hate pre-mix.

OMP system works fine, OMP lines are cheap.
