clear headlights? ? ?

Does anyone make clear headlight lenses or a housing? I'd rather not take like 10 hours to sand down the stock lens.

Thanks,
Dan

Okay im talking about the actual HEADLIGHT lens not the marker lights. I don't think the Rx-7 store sells that.

The stock one is clear...

Corksport sells the Euro headlights that are glass instead of plastic. They're $400ish if memory serves.

Are your lenses just yellowed and old? Might also be worth finding out what the part runs from Malloy.

In that case, no. There just aren't many good upgrades out there for our lenses.

What are you trying to accomplish - better lighting, cooler looking, what?

I know I'm looking for the best stock lighting replacement/upgrade that will increase visibility. I don't need non-pop-ups or get rid of the "Square" headlights...I just want better lighting. Anyone got any best "bang for the buck" resolutions to that?

hmm better lighting, huh. well u can get an standard HID kit that fits in it if thats what u mean. those run like 400 dollars. basically it replaces the bulb in the headlight and then runs teh wire to a little HID box.

if your glass is dirty, u can polish them with general 3M fiberglass polish.

yeah and it lights like crap.....Everyone will see what I have in store in a few months

I'm just going to sand down the stock lenses from the inside....start with 60grit and work down to 2000 (wet sanding) I'll post pics later on. What I'm doing does involve HID though. The stock lens screws up the light pattern with HID. Most people don't care because they GOT HID YO! They'RE MAD TYTE! But I want to do this right. I just didn't feel like taking forever to sand the stock lenses.

You can use the stock lenses as they are and not ruin the light output if you mount the projectors correctly.

BTW, before you start playing with the FD's headlights, AIM THEM! I've worked on a LOT of FD's with the headlights pointing straight down at the ground. After adjusting them properly, they actually work OK. They're not *awesome*, but they're a helluva lot better.

Thanks,
Dan

Yeah my beam pattern with HID's is no where near as crisp as J_J's. I'm curious as to how that was accomplished as well...

It's pretty simple, just takes a lot of time. I will post a write up when I finish everything. Since I managed to get ahold of an extra set of headlights, I will be sanding the fluted lenses and polishing them. The cutoff with clear lenses is actually much better then with flutted lenses, plus you will get a better light output.

I had a thread about these lights few months ago but I can't find it when I run a search under my username.

Anyways, here's some pics I have:

You could sand the whole headlight down but it would take forever. My friend did that for his Camry and it took about 6hrs.

Stock Camry headlights are fuzzy

I tried searching under your name too and couldn't find anything last night. Search button sucks. The camry looks good if you ask me. Thanks for posting some pics. BTW, what ballast did you go with?

hahaha, be my guest....the stock lights are curved those are flat...chances are they won't look right and I believe the stock ones have the alignment screws built in and those don't.
