you guys don't recognize that car?? it's SP Engineering's Supra 7.....i always knew that the hood would be hideous to allow for the turbo's and front of the motor.

It's rumored to have run in the 9's and puts down 850+rwhp. They said that it'll be pushing over 1000rwhp in the near future. This is from Alex over there at SP so it must be more than rumor.....i just can't say for sure because i wasn't there.

Ha, I saw that last night and was going to post it as a good hood for Jimlab's car. Plenty of room for that V-8. I decided to just wait to see how long it took before someone posted it. Think of it this way, it's functional (for those that don't know, it's got a Supra engine under the hood).

that is ugly as hell. also, i think the motor swap with the supra motor is BS. why buy a 7 if you are going to buy a supra motor and put it in there. sorry, if its not a 20B then dont swap. all i can say is that the workmanship is nice. aside from that, BLAH

They could've gotten away with the hood if they had maybe put a Mazdaspeed style reverse scoop on it instead of the corvette style and keep the little radius bulges. you could just build the reverse scoop up a little to compensate for the needed space....it would look way better than that! It looks like they spent some money on it too! That's the bad part about it

I think the two scoops on that hood look like the tops of E.T.'s eyes... definately ugly, I don't like the cowl induction scoop in the middle at all.

They should get that lump checked out, it might be malignant... Seriously though, I'm sure they can do better than that, i mean, good grief. If it was just a smooth bump in the middle it wouldn't look too too bad, but that just looks awful.

The Supra 7 was "created" to showcase SP Engineering's talents and workmanship. There are other performance shops that have several "creations" also that are not necessarily the most widely popular, BUT are again a view into their creative abilities.

I know of several shops that have unique creations. How about a rotary 13B in a Datsun 510? Is that blasphemous? I've seen one, and it is nice. No complaints. In fact, Todd Kaneko from Mazda happens to own a 510 w/ the 13B in it. I can get ahold of some more unique cars, such as a Ford Mustang engine in a Mercedes. We already know of some crazy tuners in Japan (Top Secret for example) that have swapped a RB26DETT in a Supra. There are other swap combinations done.

Well, the 20B is what you deem suitable for a rx-7 swap. Jimlab deems a Chevy engine suitable for his rx-7. It's your personal taste...and ultimately your money.

I think the "nosrils" were needed to fit that ricockulous twin turbo setup under the hood. A single would have fit ... better... no?

I love the cowl hood on old musclecars, but in my opinion the shape is all wrong for an FD. Good for them for trying something unique though.

I think the funniest part is that they ruined the ground clearance and steering geometry to fit the engine in and still had to create a Frankenstein hood to cover it. Yes, they made it fit, but that's hardly what I'd call a showcase of engineering talent or workmanship.

I'll also believe any numbers concerning the car when I see dyno sheets or a video. Alex hasn't shown himself to be the most honest individual, in my opinion.

I may have put a Chevrolet engine in my car, but it was extremely well planned out and no subsystems of the car were compromised or altered, nor was the weight balance, and I didn't have to commit a war crime on my hood.
