Charge Relief Valve?

what does the charge relief valve do? i thought it was a second air bypass valve until studying detailed vacuum line pics. it doesnt make near as much sound when letting off the throttle as the air bypass valve, and i was just wanting to make sure it was working correctly.

I hate to be one of those people they say search, but in your case, this topic has been gone over many many times. Search "CRV".

It shouldn't be as loud. It's doing a different job.

The charge relief valve works with the second turbo. Its on the output side (compressed air). Below 3000rmp the second turbo is off so the valve stays open. At 3000-4500rmp the second turbo prespools but is not producing boost to the engine. So the compressed air is sent out past the charge relief valve which is still open. Above 4500 the second turbo is required to produce normal boost so the compressed air is routed to the engine. At this point the crv is closed preventing the second turbo air from being vented.
