champagne test...

alright this might be a stupid question but i have to know, any help would greatly be appreciated, recently i started having cooling problems, and soon enough my waterpump went, so i just replaced the waterpump, and i was driving home that night from the shop and everything was fine, next day after work i came home and took the car out, drove it around for about 20 mins fine. then i come to a stop at a light and the temp starts climbing. so i start to move and it cools down to normal, i get home without a problem, and shut it off. later at night we start filling the coolant up because its low, i figured maybe they didnt burp the system and i had air, so we let as much air out as we could and slowly poured coolant till it was filled, started it back up and after about 5 mins when the fans come on, coolant start pouring out of the overflow. I check it this morning, and start it up, with the cap off, and check for the "champagne bubbles"? and right away i see a bunch of tiny bubbles fizzing up consistantly. Now is this a no doubt situation that my coolant seals are blown? and the motor has to be rebuilt? or is it possible its something else? could the radiator be clogged or the ast be bad? would that have any effect on whats happening, or is it definitely the motor? thanks guys, i hope my motor is not done.

wait, you actually waited till the fans turned on??? they come on at 220+degrees man... you should do the fan mod to keep the fans on as soon as your warmed up. true you might be ok till 230f degrees but i still would not want my car running that hot all the time! what does your watertemp gauge say?

Could be as little as a stuck closed T-Stat. But it sounds bad. Pressure test coooling system to see if it holds (this will tell you about you coolant seals and other areas that may be leaking).

Pressure test the cooling system...just go to a local tires plus or tire kingdom....etc...it costs like 20 bucks or something and they will pressure test your system and find out what the problem is...for 20 bucks i would have to say its worth it man...i work at a tires plus and i have never seen the pressure testing fail me to diagnose problems
