If you use a Cali ECU to your non-Cali car, you will get a error code because the Cali car has a sensor on the EGR valve and the Cali-ECU is programmed to detect that. Since your non-cali car's EGR valve does not have a sensor, the ECU will think it's broken. If you put a non-cali ECU to a Cali car, you are ok. All 93-95 are the same. Pettit is wrong.

What's the part number on your ECU? You can tell if it's a cali ecu by the part number. Go look at your EGR valve. If it has a blue connector attached to it, then it's a cali car, if not, it's a federal car. I think your car shouldn't be a Cali car. The ECU you have should be a Cali ECU and the part number should be N3A3.

Ca. cars have a position sensor on the EGR in '94. I got a '95 ECU and up-dated to Pettit reprograming. The '95 ECU will fit any car, '95 cars have no EGR and you can disable smog.
BTW: I should sell it, Going TO4e single.

That just explains why you got a error code as I have explained in my posts. The ECU is a cali ecu and your car is federal. Try to get a N3A1 ECU then the light will not come on.

maybe it would be a good idea to take the pettit chipset out and solder it to your stock ecu. just an idea, i think that would work. good luck.

Did I ever say that? I said all the 93-95 ECU are the same but there two versions, cali and non cali. Can you read my posts carefully and don't misquote? What's up with your attitude? You sound like I sold you the ECU and said it would work.
