apex seals replacement

have any of you replaced the apex seals before they were blown? Will this make a difference in reliability? What is the cost?

it is called a rebuild. you can't just replace the apex seals you should replace all the other seals and gaskets while the engine is apart. only reason i would do to that is if you popped a fresh engine and are trying ot save $$$
