Cat back exhaust help

I know this has been discussed many time before, but what is the best cat back for free flowing and isnt really loud. First I was going with rb but I hear that it is to restrictive if I was going to get a single turbo some day. What do you guys suggest I get that flows great but sounds like the RB.

The RB is fine for flow. Theyve got single and dual tips. I went with the greddy SP2 just cuz im cool like that. I dont know how it sounds yet though.....ive got a lot to do before i hear it. I can tell you its craftsmanship is excellent and the price is good. It looks like it flows well.

I was thinking of apexi n1 dual or blitz NUR Spec. Do you guys suggest anything else?

What is the flow rate of a rb compare to blitz or a apexi?

Apexi N1 = Loud

Nur Spec sounds like someone giving birth to a turd in my opinion.

Anything that has decent sized piping and outlet will flow fine. Unless you are making like crazy a$$ power.

I would say,

Apexi N1, N1 Dual, GT
Re Amemiya Dolphin Tail
Tanabe Ultra Medallion
HKS Carbon Ti
Greddy Sp2, Ti
Espelir Gt-500

All good choices in my book

It is a matter of taste.

Hks is actually a deeper kinda sound. However it does not sound like Racing Beat C/b.

Just buy the racing beat as others said it flows fine, plus if that is the sound you want then go for it.

I love my RB single. If it helps, here's a link to a bunch of audio files of different exhausts:

IMO you can't go wrong with the Racing Beat dual. It REALLY compliments the looks of the car, and the flow is good, much better than stock whilst not being OVERLY loud at idle and normal driving. Open it up and get all over it and this exhaust HOWLS with authority! It really is like two different animals.

There are a lot of quality exhausts out there, but....really, most of them are just far too loud for everyday living, and some of them sound pretty damned strange when it comes down to it, giving the car a "chainsaw on steroids" sound.....NOT good!

Just to throw some change in -

First off, AVOID the Apexi N1 Dual. Not only is it loud, it fits like crap and will melt the black plastic at the bottom of your rear bumper. There's no good reason to buy that thing.

RB's exhausts are nice, but one thing that's been bugging me is that they use that stock 2-bolt hanger at the rear right of the muffler. Turns out looking a little goofy with a new, shiny exhaust with an old rusty stock hanger bolted to it.

I currently run an HKS Hiper. Great fit and finish, good sound, optional silencer, and dirt cheap. With my stock cat/downpipe, sound was VERY tolerable. With my new high-flow metal cat, it's getting on the loud side.

I've got an old Fujitsubo Legalis R in my attic that I'm going to put on to see how the sound/performance does. If it works, I might look for something a bit tamer. Tanabe actually has a LOT of FD catbacks - many with low sound levels, and all different designs.

http://www.tanabe-usa.com/exhausts/default.asp

Not many have run their exhausts. They actually have quite a few for the FD, from conservative to wild. Good pricing, too.
