Angry Carfax Abusers

there's something about COMMON DECENCY to NOT use someone else's carfax account WITHOUT their permission. i would gladly have helped you all out but sadly, there are a good many bastards (or just one) amongst you that feel like they can take advantage of other people's generosity. so to the *******(s) who has run several checks on my account, this may not mean much, but you need to develop a conscience. good day.

Yeah, it sucks to be ripped off...but why the hell did you give out your password?
I ran something like 17 carfax inquiries for people on this Forum when I had my Carfax account....hell, I was glad to do it....I had already found my car and had "vehicles to burn".....yeah, yeah, yeah, I KNOW you are not supposed to do that, but what the hell.....
You just have to remember at all times that there will be those that take advantage of you when they can....sort of like those sick-os that work in Institutions that have sex with totally vegged out retarded women.....just because they can........

i never needed a password. maybe there's a cookie on mine but i also don't remember having to enter a password either when registering. hacked is a possibility (but those who are using it may be on this board since ALL OF THE VINs that were ran were for RX7s!!!) but i think all you need is an e-mail address. perhaps my mistake was trusting the world and actually having people USE my e-mail to contact me. someone asked for a carfax report on a thread in this forum. i told them to e-mail me at my e-mail address and i could help them out. instead, someone or some peoplem must've just tried using my e-mail address.

I think it was just an honest mistake, dude. If someone asked for a CARFAX account, and you posted an e-mail address, they probably took it as you listing the addy to use. That's the way I would have interpreted it.

And you don't need a pasword to run a check. All you do is enter the e-mail addy as the account name, then enter the VIN#.

CARFAX doesn't ask you for a password. It just asks you for your email address. After you put in the email address you will be able to view carfax reports. Now the reason he is pissed is because everytime you run a carfax report, a full email with attachment of the report gets sent to that email address afterwards. Which is quite annoying if you have 20+ people doing it.
